Jack Black showed up with several monsters at Comic Con for the Goosebumps panel, where the director revealed a little about the upcoming film.
"The idea behind the movie is, what if all of R.L. Stine's creatures got loose?" Rob Letterman explained. "It's a great excuse for all our favorite creatures from the various books to get on the big screen."
Black is on board as the author himself and spoke about meeting the actual Stine and noted that his portrayal isn't going to be close to the real deal. "I need him to be a little more sinister," the actor said. "Don't be like, 'you don't look, sound like him, Jack. You blew it dude!"
Letterman wouldn't reveal all the creatures that would appear in the upcoming film, preferring to "put a question mark" on his responses, saying "it's not a spoiler" that way.
According to /Film, Black was joined on stage by Slappy, who is "alive" and not being controlled by Black. Nearly 20 other creatures from the books also shuffled up to the stage.
The trailer for Goosebumps was then shown off and shows a new family moving next door to Stine's house. Their son, played by Dylan Minnette, breaks into Stine's house after seeing something inside and discovers all the monster's from the books are there, locked up.
Stine and the kids are shown attacked by a giant preying mantis and other monsters are quickly shown, including Slappy, Snowman of Pasadena and others.
