Joey Chestnut both managed to win his eighth Coney Island Hot Dog Eating Contest on Friday and get engaged to his girlfriend, rounding out a nice Fourth of July holiday.

Only a half an hour ahead of the hot dog eating contest, Chestnut got down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend on while on stage. She was competing in the women's division of the contest.

Shortly after his girlfriend said yes, he was once again crowned the victor in the hot dog contest, according to ABC News. While unable to break his previous record of 69 hotdogs, Chestnut was able to best everyone else with 61 hot dogs eaten in the span of a 10-minute period.

Matt Stonie came in second with 56 hot dogs wolfed down.

In the women's division of the Coney Island contest, Sonya Thomas, who has won three times and currently holds the record, was defeated by Miki Sudo, who managed to consume 34 hotdogs.
