Audiences will finally get to see Johnny Depp play notorious Boston mobster Whitey Bulger next fall. Warner Bros. officially gave the film a date on Monday.

The film, which is now untilted, popped up on Box Office Mojo’s schedule with a release date for Sept. 18, 2015. That is the same day that Universal will be releasing its Everest thriller, which stars Josh Brolin and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Depp and director Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, Out of the Furnace) have been filming what was once known as Black Mass in Boston this spring and summer. In fact, even with production continuing, new stars are joining. Kevin Bacon was cast just last week.

The rest of the star-studded cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Adam Scott, Dakota Johnson, Juno Temple, Joel Edgerton and Sienna Miller.

The project is based on Black Mass: The True Story of an Unholy Alliance Between the FBI and the Irish Mob by Dick Lehr and Gerard O'Neill, which was adapted by Mark Mallouk. It was also at one point an indie project that Barry Levinson was set to direct, but Depp left over a salary dispute and Levinson left. Eventually, Depp came back and Warner Bros. agreed to co-finance.
