Kevin Smith fans were given a heavy blow yesterday when the filmmaker revealed that the Weinsteins passed on the opportunity to fund the filming of Clerks III, stating that they would only distribute the movie if it did get made. While some predicted that this may be the end of the road for the movie, Smith has taken to his Twitter to announce that that is not so.
After yesterday's report saying that the Weinsteins declined Smith the intended $6 million he felt needed to make a new Clerks, a fan asked on Twitter if Clerks III would still be made. Smith went on to tweet back:
Via @Kitties4every1 "Will Clerks 3 still be made?" Heavens yes, just not with the Weinsteins' money. And all involved are okay with this.

In addition to this, however, Smith has provided a couple updates to his newest movie, Tusk. First, on the movie's website, he has posted the movie's official poster. If that wasn't enough, JoBlo also reports that the trailer will be making its premiere in two weeks at the San Diego Comic-Con.
Although not every fan will get to check out the movie then, they shouldn't fret, for it will be released online shortly after.
While the release date is not yet set, A24 will be releasing Tusk in wide release within the third quarter of 2014, likely around Halloween.
