The Miami Marlins finished a successful seven game road trip with three victories in a row against the Houston Astros. Overall, the Marlins road trip consisted of six wins and one loss.

According to the Miami Herald, this is the best road stretch the Marlins have had in franchises history. Manager Dan Jennings hopes the team can maintain the overwhelming success they have had over the past week.

“We did what we had to do,” Dan Jennings said. “Now we head home and hopefully we can duplicate the same record — or better.”

Before the road trip took place, the team was struggling to find a victory. They had an overall record of 47 wins and 52 losses. With the newfound success, the team has managed to produce a level .500 record with 53 wins and 53 losses.

Florida has a legitimate chance to compete for the National League Eastern division title because they are only five games out of first place, as proven by MLB.com. With August approaching, ever single game is crucial to either making the playoffs or sitting at home in October.
