Radio shock jock Anthony Cumia, who hosts SiriusXM’s Opie And Anthony show, certainly shocked his Twitter followers with a tirade following a Times Square experience. Some have considered his rant racist, while he has defended himself, saying he was the victim.

Cumia claims that he was punched by an African American woman while he was trying to take a picture in Times Square Tuesday. As the New York Daily News points out, he managed to take a few pictures of the woman and shared them with his 153,000 followers.

He said that during the incident, the woman punched him five times. “She’s lucky I was a white legal gun owner or she’d be dead. Then 5 blacks started giving me s**t!” he wrote. He said in subsequent tweets that she called him a “white motherf****r” and called her a “c**t” and “savage” on Twitter.

As reports of Cumia’s triade continued to circulate, he used his Twitter feed to go after many outlets individually. “Hey, @aleksnotalex you f***ng excuse for a ‘journalist’. Spread your s**t but won't come to the source & address me? You're a little c**t,” he wrote directly to a writer for Gawker.

He also replied directly to a few Twitter users and has retweeted some of his supporters.

According to EW, Sirius has not commented on Cumia’s behavior.
