The single was released on the first of this month and is described by the artist as “Electro Pop.” This makes sense as the lyrics are very akin to something one would hear on the radio: “Crying on the dance floor, I can’t take it anymore,” “Baby don’t you let me go.” They are simplistic and about dancing and love. Yet, there is a heavier focus on the synths and drum machine than a typical pop song. The nature of which reminds me of the songs from the original Dance Dance Revolution games. The overall sound of the synths are retro, but later in the song, around the 2:20 mark, we get into a little bit of the wub-wub pattern found in modern dubstep. The rhythms make it clear that this is a song to dance to. In the last seconds of the song, the synths drop out and allow the vocalist, Francine, to show off her ability. No longer masked in layers of synth, the unaccompanied voice preforms a finale in the form of bravado. The lyric video is seen bellow; the official music video will be released on July 28th.
