Passengers aboard the Sunwing Flight had their trip delayed once again after a a passenger fainted.
The first time the plane, en route to Panama City on Friday morning, was diverted was when a passenger threatened the aircraft. The plane was over West Virginia was it was forced to turn around. While on the ground, the Canadian SWAT team rushed onto the flight, with weapons drawn, and removed the suspect at Toronto Pearson International Airport, reported CNN.
The man was identified as 25-year-old Ali Shahi of Canada.
The airline was turned around 45 minutes into the flight after the threat. The SWAT team storming onto the plane was recorded by a passenger with his cellphone.
“Head down! Hands up!” the team yelled as they closed in on the suspect.
Witnesses described said Shahi was saying he wanted to bomb the Canada. Shahi was arrested and charged with michef to property and endangering the safety of an aircraft.
After having their flight delayed, passengers were once again on the plane to Panama City. However, they were forced to land in Jamaica after a passenger fainted and suffered a minor head injury, reported ABC News.
The flight was delayed in Jamaica for an hour. The passenger who fainted was taken to a local hospital.
No more delays were reported, and Sunwing Flight 772 finally arrived in Panama City Friday night.
