Even before announcing their full line-up, the New York Film Festival has revealed another heavy hitter that will be making its premiere at the festival this year, Paul Thomas Anderson's Inherent Vice.
As Variety reports, the new movie, expected to hit the awards circles in the fall, will be premiering on October 4. This will mark the third Anderson movie that will be showcased at the festival, after Boogie Nights and Punch-Drunk Love.
Inherent Vice serves as the centerpiece of this year's festival. Last year's centerpiece was Ben Stiller's The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, which, needless to say, didn't quite become the awards prospect that people thought it was going to be after its first trailer premiered.
On Thursday, it was announced that David Fincher's Gone Girl will be premiering and opening the festival on September 27. More announcements as to what will be premiering and playing at the festival will be revealed in the days to come.
Inherent Vice will be making its way into theaters across the country on December 12, when it makes its limited release.
