Portia de Rossi may get to add the title "Gladiator" to her resume. The 41-year-old Arrested Development star is said to be starring in a top secret storyline on popular ABC series Scandal.
De Rossi's wife, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres leaked the news on her Twitter.
So annoying when people brag on twitter & that's why I'm not tweeting that Portia just signed on to do a top secret arc on "Scandal". Oops.

The Scandal writers soon followed, confirming Ellen's juicy revelation.
We are so excited to have Portia de Rossi joining us this coming season!

According to The New York Daily News, there is no word on whether or not de Rossi will be playing a hero or villain during her stint on the show. However, this would appear to be especially good news for the couple since they both claim to be avid watchers of the show.
"Portia and I watch every single week, and we're always trying to figure out who the bad guy is," Degeneres said in an April episode of her talk show.
Scandal has been in the news quite a bit as of late. In addition to the news of Portia de Rossi being brought onto the show, yesterday reports surfaced that Southland star Regina King would be directing an episode of the fourth season of Scandal. Earlier in the month the show also made headlines when former star Columbus Short was arrested after a Fourth of July bar fight. Hopefully King and de Rossi will be able to shed a more favorable light onto the show.
The fourth season of ABC's Scandal will premiere on September 25 at 9 p.m. EST.
