The demise of The Hateful Eight was greatly exaggerated, especially by the project’s own writer and director, Quentin Tarantino. After telling Comic-Con attendees that the Western is back on, the Django Unchained helmer has let the first poster be released.
The image showed up on Empire Magazine first and is a beautiful tribute to the old black and white posters of the past. It simply shows a horse-drawn carriage running from something, leaving behind a trail of blood. (Hey, this is Tarantino, remember.)
At the bottom, there’s a reference to the film being shot in Super Cinemascope, a nod to the old Fox widescreen process. Tarantino does plan on making the film in 70mm. Also, this will clearly be Tarantino’s next film and could be shot quickly. The release date at the bottom is 2015.
During his Comic-Con panel, Tarantino said that The Hateful Eight is the next movie he will make. It’s surprising that he has made such a rapid turnaround from his rage after the script leaked. Obviously, that live read may have helped him calm down.

In other Tarantino news, he did say that the full, four-hour Kill Bill should be coming out soon.
