Robin Thicke’s scheme to try to win Paula Patton has not worked at all and probably backfired. All the fans he got from Blurred Lines have left him high and dry and that includes those in the U.K. and Australia.

At least in the U.S., Paula managed to get in the Billboard 200 album chart’s Top 10. It only sold 24,00 copies, but considering the music industry today, that’s actually not too awful.

However, his situation in the U.K. is bleak. According to The Guardian, the Official Charts Company recorded just 530 copies of the album being sold in its first week. That was good enough for No. 200 on the album chart. Blurred Lines sold 25,981 copies in its first week last year.

But hold on. It gets worse. Down under, the album didn’t even make it onto the ARIA 500 album chart, notes News.com.au. The No. 200 album this past week there was a Blondie hits compilation that sold 54 copies. So, less than 50 Australians wanted to hear Thicke’s pleas to get his wife back.

There are no sales figures for albums outside the Top 500, so it’s not known exactly how badly the album did in Australia.

Thicke’s promotion of the album has clearly backfired. Obviously, he forgot how much topless models in a video can really help drive album sales.
