Rolf Harris, a known children’s show actor in the U.K. and Australia, has been sentenced to five years and nine months in jail for 12 charges of indecently assaulting young girls between 1968 and 1986.
There were the four victims in this case, one being only seven or eight years old. Another victim was a friend of his daughter, Bindi, as well as two other teens.
According to The BBC, the judge in Harris’ case stated that he has showed "no remorse" for his crimes and "clearly got a thrill” from them.
As we previously reported, the now 84-year-old Harris faced his victims in court, as they gave testimonies to the jury. The jury unanimously found Harris guilty on Monday.
Crown Prosecution Service's Jenny Hopkins said after the verdict Harris "used his status and position as a world famous children's entertainer to sexually assault young girls over a period spanning 18 years."
Some of Harris’ children’s hits include "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport," "Jake the Peg" and "Two Little Boys."
