While President Barack Obama tries to respond to the growing immigration crisis at the border with Mexico, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is suggesting that this is cause enough for Obama to be impeached.

“Enough is enough of the years of abuse from this president,” Palin writes in her Breitbart oped. “His unsecured border crisis is the last straw that makes the battered wife say, ‘no mas.’”

Palin accuses the president of allowing illegal immigrants to enter the country, giving “false hope and taxpayer’s change to millions of foreign nationals who want to sneak into our country illegally.”

Later, she writers, “President Obama’s rewarding of lawlessness, including his own, is the foundational problem here.” She suggests that his next goal is to “meddle” with the courts so he will have influence over the country long after his second term is over.

“It’s time to impeach; and on behalf of American workers and legal immigrants of all backgrounds, we should vehemently oppose any politician on the left or right who would hesitate in voting for articles of impeachment,” she writes.

Palin’s comments were published on the same day that Obama requested $3.7 billion in emergency funds to deal with the growing crisis, which has seen hundreds of children from Central American countries trying to get into the U.S. According to ABC News, around half of the money would go to the Department of Health and Human Services to help care for those children.

The Departments of Homeland Security and Justice will also receive funds to help beef up security at the border. The State Department will also get $300 million to help the effort to get the word out to countries that the U.S. will not welcome more children sent here illegally.

Obama is in Texas today and is scheduled to meet with Gov. Rick Perry during the trip, notes CNN.
