It was nothing short of a miracle when Nicole Pagliaro – who thought her wedding gown was destroyed in Hurricane Sandy – got it back.

The Staten Island woman dropped off the dress to a dry cleaners owned by Hector Pacheco in 2012, but the shop was destroyed in Hurricane Sandy.

According to The AP, she walked past Pacheco’s new location while taking a different route to work and spotted the dress in the window. She noted "there was no sign, no phone number" on the old location, which was boarded up.

"I knew it was my dress," she told reporters, SI Live reports. She also still had the dry cleaning ticket to prove it.

When she was reunited with Pacheco, "he remembered me and gave me a big hug,” she said.

Pagliaro now wants her daughter, Mia Grace, 18 months old, to wear the wedding gown that survived and has safely been placed in the hands of its rightful owner.

Pagliaro’s husband called it "another symbol of our relationship surviving everything.”
