Actor Stephen Amell of CW’s Arrow has insisited that he will not have a role in director Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman.

Arrow viewers, as described by Cinema Blend, have spent months speculating about Amell’s big screen potential (as well as Grant Gustin’s Flash), but the issue was addressed by Amell himself on his Facebook.

Amell posted on Facebook, letting his fans know that while he appreciates the support of his fans to see Amell’s Oliver Queen fighting against Ben Affleck’s Batman or Henry Cavill's Superman, he insisted he has not plans to be in the film.

Amell cryptically revealed in the past that he was going to be present at an Arrow panel at San Diego Comic Con, and many began to guess that Amell would be showing up at the Warner Bros. panel as well, where it is rumored that more casting decisions and announcements for the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League movies would be made. But, with this announcement, it seems Amell will not be a surprise appearance at the panel.

As noted on MTV.com, Amell also wrote, “Playing Arrow on television isn’t a consolation prize…We play the definitive versions of our characters in the DC Universe.”

The third season of Arrow returns on October 8, with Batman v Superman arriving on May 6, 2016.
