Singer/songwriter Stevie Nicks is going to share some advice with hopefuls on the new season of The Voice. The Fleetwood Mac member will join Adam Levine’s team this fall.
The news was posted on the show’s Twitter page, along with Levine and Nicks’ Extra interview. The “Landslide” singer joked that she may be Levine’s good luck charm, since she performed on the first season finale of The Voice, which ended with a member of his team, Javier Colon, winning.
“I won the first season, actually,” Nicks told Extra, taking credit for Colon’s win. “I did! I flew in, barely made the show, no rehearsal, then Javier won. I looked at Adam and went, ‘He won!’”
Levine, whose band Maroon 5 is about to release a new album, said that he begged Nicks to come back as on with a bigger role. It took “bribery, begging, pleading” to bring her on, he joked.
The Voice is currently filming its fall cycle, which will look very different from past seasons. While mainstays Levine and Blake Shelton will be back, “Happy” singer Pharrell Williams and No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani will be making their Voice debuts. Shakira, Usher, Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera weren’t available.
“It was smooth sailing from the beginning,” Levine said about the new judges. “They are frighteningly good at it.”
NBC's The Voice returns on Sept. 22.
