For moviegoers who can’t get enough of Tom Hardy, there’s some good news. Child 44, a new thriller that pairs him with Noomi Rapace, will be hitting theaters in April.
Child 44 has been in the works for over a year and will be director Daniel Espinoza’s follow-up to the hit Denzel Washington actioner Safe House. Hardy stars as a Soviet officer while Josef Stalin is still in power. He is tasked with investigating child murders, but soon discovers that he’s the one the the government is blaming for them. Rapace plays his wife.

The script is by Richard Price and based on Tom Rob Smith’s novel. Director Ridley Scott is among the producers.
According to Deadline, Summit/Lionsgate has scheduled the film for an April 17, 2015 release.
