Tupac Shakur Broadway musical ‘Holler if Ya Hear Me’ is being canceled

The Broadway musical Holler if Ya Hear Me has been canceled after not even making it past two months. The musical used songs from deiced hip-hop legend Tupac Shakur.

Since the Broadway show made its debut in early June, it has struggled to maintain financial success, reports Variety. Weekly sales of the show have been terrible, and have not live up to its earning potential.

Since Holler if Ya Hear Me began, it has failed to reach a $200,000 mark for weekly sales. Also, the seating capacity was less than half way filled. Producer Eric L. Gould was planning on spending in the range of $5 million on the promotion but that will not be happening because of the recent cancelation.

According to theAssociated Press, tickets were as cheap as $38.44 to buy one ticket. The show was not about Tupac Shakur, however many songs from his career were apart of the show.

For example, songs “California Love” and “I Get Around” were apart of the musical. Tupac’s mother Afeni Shakur was one of the producers of the show.
