UEFA, the administrative body for soccer in Europe, has barred Israeli soccer teams from hosting matches in Israeli until further notice. They have also barred matches between Ukraine and Russia due to the hostility between the two countries.
According to the BBC, no team will be allowed to host Champions League or Europa League game because of the ongoing crisis between Israel and Hamas.
UEFA said that the clubs have been requested to find different venues outside of Israeli for their home legs this years Champions League and Europa League.
Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Be’er Sheva were supposed to host qualifying games this month.
UEFA also announced that teams in the Ukraine and Russia will be barred from playing each other because of safety and security concerns if teams were drawn against each other.
The next qualifying round draw will be on July 18, UEFA will make sure that the teams will not face each.
However, UEFA announced that matches will still be allowed to happen in Ukraine for any team that continues in the Champions or Europa Leagues.
