A woman in Idaho delivered her own child while driving to a doctor’s appointment. Yes, you read that correctly—while. If that isn’t shocking enough, she was also chatting with her fiancé on the phone during the birth.
It seems that baby Kimber Marie Crown was eager to precede her due date, emerging early at a weight of 6 pounds, 7 ounces.
“I was at the stoplight in Heyburn, and I was on the phone with my fiancé and I told him, ‘I think the baby’s here.’ I heard the baby crying, and I was still driving because I was trying to find a spot to stop safely and pull off the road without blocking traffic,” 29-year-old Shawna Uriguen said, according to Mod Vive.
Her husband recalled hearing several contractions over the phone and then hearing Shawna say, “I think the baby is in my pant leg,” reported Times-News. He “felt helpless” as he called 911 and attempted to be of assistance in any way possible.
Amazingly enough, Shawna and the baby came out of this wild ride in good health.
