Twenty-year-old Tyler Fox Viscardi passed away Friday after overdosing on drugs at a Mad Decent Block Party concert at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Howard County.

The young man, from Raleigh, North Carolina, was brought to the Howard County General Hospital at around 9 p.m., when he was pronounced dead, as reported by The Baltimore Sun.

The police reported that over 20 other concertgoers were also hospitalized due to drug overdoses, including one 17-year-old boy from Virginia who is in critical condition, according to Reuters.

Seth Hurwitz, the venue operator, expressed in a statement his sympathy to those affected by the tragedy. “Our hearts go out to the family as they face the unimaginable,” he said. “This particular type of incident is not the problem of those who should have known better…it’s the problem of those too young to believe it could happen to them.”

The Mad Decent Block Party travels across the country, performing all-day concerts throughout the United States. Similar instances have occurred at their past events.
