Wheels are turning on Jim O’Hanlon’s A Hundred Streets. Several actors have just signed on to the upcoming film.
Variety reported that the cast now includes Les Miserables’ Samantha Barks; The Hobbit’s Ken Stott; The Fifth Element’s Charlie Creed-Miles; Luther’s Steve Mackintosh; Downton Abbey’s Tom Cullen; and Plastic’s Emma Rigby . They will share the screen with previously announced stars Idris Elba and Gemma Arterton.
According to Empire, A Hundred Streets is a drama similar to Crash, telling the interconnected stories of Londoners from different socioeconomic stations. Leon Butler wrote the script.
Entertainment Weekly examined the roles that these new cast members would have. Barks will play the ex-girlfriend of a playboy played by Adaam Bakri. The playboy, Jahmal, is both involved with Rigby’s character and on the run with Mackintosh’s security guard. Elsewhere, Creed-Miles plays a cab driver who yearns for fatherhood, Cullen plays Arterton’s high school friend and Stott plays an aging actor who connects with a drug dealer.
The film is currently filming in London.
