Amal Alamuddin, George Clooney’s fiancé, is planning to walk down the aisle in a gown designed by Oscar de La Renta.
As noted by Fox News Latino, Alamuddin is a human rights lawyer, and wanted to, according to the New York Post, give the famous Dominican designer, her personal friend, “some attention.”
As Fox News Latino points out, however, de la Renta is not necessary struggling for the public eye, as his dresses are quite popular for celebrities on their wedding day, including Katherine Heigl and Jenna Bush.
According to Women's Wear Daily, Clooney will wear Armani, bringing in an entire team of designers to his home in Italy.
As we reported, Clooney and Alamuddin received a marriage license in London yesterday. Alamuddin and Cloney plan to marry on September 20th near Venice, Italy, with Clooney renting the “entire island” for the event. As a unnamed source told the New York Post, “They’re going to have top security, but include a really small group. Very intimate, and mostly family.”
Clooney has been a bachelor since his divorce to actress Talia Balsam in 1993, insisting that he would never remarry, calling himself a “lousy husband”.
Alamuddin has quite the storied legal career, including a stint providing advice for the United Nations former secretary general Kofi Annan on Syria, representing Yulia Tymoshenko, the ex-prime minister of Ukraine, in court, as well as WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
