An Arizona math teacher showed up to teach class on Wednesday drunk and reportedly kept on drinking while there.
Kathleen Jardine, who teaches at Poston Butte High School, was yelling at students until one had enough and called to the front office, azcentral reports. The student also thought she might be drunk.
The school's resource officer pulled the 57-year-old teacher out of class and found she was indeed intoxicated, Florence School District spokesman Richard Franco said.
Police arrived on the scene and gave the woman a breathalyzer test, where she blew a 0.205. Jardine eventually revealed she started drinking the night before and kept on going in the morning and then during lunch.
In the questioning, the teacher admitted she knew she was "too intoxicated" and so she didn't drive to school herself, instead taking a taxi.
According to Reuters, Jardine is looking at a possible charge for public consumption as well as one for disorderly conduct.
Police say that her purse contained an empty single-sized wine bottle, half a bottle of vodka and an orange drink.
Jardine lost a teaching position three years ago in New Mexico for being intoxicated during class, Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu said.
"Learning math can be hard, I can't imagine trying to learn it from a drunk teacher."
