Sleepy Hollow actor Clancy Brown has been cast for an important recurring role in the upcoming first season of The CW's The Flash.

Brown will play General Wade Eiling, aka The General, in the series and will make his debut in the fifth episode, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The General is described to have "a face carved from years of duty" and will not stop at protecting American interests worldwide. The tall and strong leader of a black ops team is hunting down Plastique, played by Kelly Frye. He is looking to use her as a weapon.

The guest cast of The Flash continues to grow with Brown joining Wentworth Miller, who was cast to play Captain Cold, and Arrow star's Stephen Amell's cousin Robbie Amell, who is half of Firestorm.

Stephen himself will make an appearance as The Arrow at some point and Felicity, played by Emily Bett Rickards, will as well.

The CW series stars Grant Gustin as The Flash/Barry Allen who gains superspeed through a freak accident, which the comic world is full of, is an assistant police forensic investigator in Central City.

Others in the rather large cast include Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin, John Wesley Shipp, Rick Cosnett, Carlos Valdes and Candice Patton.

The Flash will make its debut on Oct. 7.
