Dakota Johnson has made it very clear that she does not want her famous parents to see her steamy sex scenes with Jamie Dornan in Fifty Shades of Grey. Her mother, Melanie Griffith, said in a new interview that Dakota has banned them from seeing it.

Griffith spoke with IndieWire this week, since she stars in Thirst, a short film that will be screened at the Locarno Film Festival. She assured the site that she hasn’t seen an early cut of Fifty Shades and is going to stick to her daughter’s wishes to avoid seeing it. However, she did actually visit the set.

“I have not seen 50 Shades of Grey. I don't think I'm going to see it,” Griffith said. “[Dakota] was like, ‘You guys cannot come. There's no way.’ So we're not going. I did go visit for a couple of days when they were shooting just normal stuff. I did see the Room of Pain — I did go in there and check it out.”

Griffith didn’t have anything bad to say about her daughter and is looking forward to seeing her in other projects, like Johnny Depp’s Black Mass Whitey Bulger movie.

“She's amazing — so good,” Griffith said of her daughter. “It's just so beautiful to see her doing this. She had her mom and her dad and her grandmother and she's just taken us all and thrown us away. She's like, ‘Here I am.’”

Dakota’s famous father is Don Johnson, who has also said he won’t see Fifty Shades.

In an interview with Today last month, Dakota said that she doesn’t want her parents to see it. “I mean, if it were them doing the movie, I wouldn’t want to see that,” she said.

Everyone - except Dakota’s parents - can see Fifty Shades on Valentine’s Day 2015.
