Disney is ready to take audiences down the rabbit hole once again with Through The Looking Glass, a sequel to the 2010 international hit Alice in Wonderland. The studio announced that production has started in England and that some familiar faces will be back.

Although Tim Burton isn’t coming back to the director’s chair, that hasn’t stopped stars from returning to the franchise. Johnny Depp will once again play the Mad Hatter, while Anne Hathaway will be back as the White Queen and Helena Bonham Carter will play the Red Queen again. Mia Wasikowska is Alice and Matt Lucas will play both Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum again.

Rhys Ifans is joining the cast to play the Mad Hatter’s father. Sacha Baron Cohen will play Time and Ed Speleers is playing James Harcourt.

The voice cast will also feature Stephen Fry, Toby Jones, Alan Rickman, Michael Sheen, Timothy Spall, Paul Whitehouse and Barbara Windsor.

James Bobin, who directed the last two Muppet movies, has been confirmed as the new director. He was first linked to the project back in May 2013.

Maleficent writer Linda Wolverton is working on the script. As previously announced, the film will hit theaters on May 27, 2016.

Disney has seen incredible success with live-action versions of its animated classics, most recently with the Sleeping Beauty reimagining Maleficent. Next year will see the release of both Cinderalla and The Jungle Book. Alice was the start of that success, so it makes perfect sense that it’s the first one to get a sequel. The 2010 film reached the $1 billion threshold and won Oscars for art direction and costume design, so at least it looked nice.
