Everyone knows that once Disney sees a movie making money, a sequel is sure to follow. So it's no surprise that the popular Frozen will be getting a sequel. But things will be differently as the sequel will be in book form.
According to Cinema Blend, Random House, the largest book publisher in the world, revealed that it is producing the book sequel that will be aimed at young readers. The sequel will continue where Frozen left off.
There will be more than just one book published. The first book, Anna & Elsa #1: All Hail the Queen and the sequel to that book, Anna & Elsa #2: Memory and Magic will hit shelves on Jan. 6, 2015.
The first two books will go more into the lives of the Frozen sisters, and develop their sisterly relationship. Disney isn’t known for ending things at two. An additional two books will be published later in the year, and the publisher plans for “three or four books a year going forward.”
Erica David will write the books. David has written popular spin offs, one being for How to Train Your Dragon, and another for Legend of Korra, reported The Hollywood Reporter.
Frozen is expected to rival against the popular spin off of Disney's Neverland, Never Girls.
"We have seen our Disney Never Girls series fill a real niche in the chapter book market, and with the momentum for Frozen only continuing to grow, we knew this was the perfect focus for this new series," said Random House children's division president, Barbara Marcus.
We'll have to wait until the books release to find out if Frozen will be a big hit with readers.
