Someone may want to remind Jamie Dornan that he has to make the sequels to Fifty Shades of Grey eventually, because he keeps lining up new roles to keep him busy. The actor has been cast in The 9th Life of Louis Drax, a new thriller in the works from Miramax.

The film will be directed by Alexandre Aja, who just directed Daniel Radcliffe in Horns. According to TheWrap, the screenplay was written by Max Minghella and is based on the novel by Liz Jensen. Minghella and Tim Bricknell are producing.

Dornan will star as Dr. Allan Pascal who becomes interested in the bizarre and mysterious case of young Louis Drax.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Louis Drax is a major step for Miramax, which has ignored film production in recent years to focus on exploiting its huge catalog of past releases. This particular project actually dates back to 2004, when the studio had picked Max’s late father, English Patient director Anthony Minghella, to write and direct.

“Max's script takes us on a very emotional journey through the deep recesses of the mind and on a suspenseful Hitchcockian ride,” Aja said in a statement. “I was drawn to the poignant family drama and the supernatural elements, and am excited to bring this rich and complex story to life.”

This is the latest part for Dornan, who just finished filming on Fifty Shades of Grey, which opens on Valentine’s Day next year. He has a small part in The Weinstein Company’s untitled Bradley Cooper chef movie and will make The Siege of Jadotville after he finishes his publicity tour for Fifty Shades. Of course, he will also be expected to play Christian Grey twice more if E.L. James’ sequels are filmed.

There was also a rumor that director Guy Ritchie wanted him for his King Arthur movie, but there’s been no further news on that front.
