The writer and co-director of Disney's Frozen has been tapped to write the adaptation of Madeleine L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time.

Currently Lee is only on board to write the script based off the 1962 novel, Variety exclusively reports. No director is attached to the project.

Back in 2010, Jeff Stockwell previously made a run at adapting A Wrinkle in Time for Disney. Catherine Hand and Jim Whitaker have taken on the producing duties for Disney's latest attempt at bringing the novel to the big screen.

Whitaker has experience with the work as he previously produced ABC's TV movie on the L'Engle book back in 2003.

According to Entertainment Weekly, A Wrinkle in Time is about two siblings that travel through time and visit various strangle new worlds as they try to track down their missing father.

Lee, who also co-wrote Wreck-It Ralph, is said to have long been a fan of the book, which is the first of the "Time Quartet" series, and plans on focusing on creating a strong female-driven narrative.
