It’s another day, which means that Fox must have put out another teaser for Gotham, the upcoming Batman prequel series developed by The Mentalist creator Bruno Heller. At this point, we could probably piece the entire pilot together, but at least today’s teaser includes some words from the star, Ben McKenzie.
The former Southland actor was cast as Capt. James Gordon, who is better known as Commissioner Gordon by the time Batman shows up. But at this point, he’s the only clean police officer in a city where everyone is corrupt.
A previous teaser showed us how dirty the city is and now we know that the “last good man in Gotham” is the only one who can clean it up.
However, the new 30-second spot shows that Gordon isn’t opposed to using violence. There must be a reason why Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin (Robin Taylor) is bleeding from his forehead.
You can also check out the extended trailer released back in May.
Gotham debuts on Fox on Monday, Sept. 22. As the series develops, we will likely see more Batman villains, even including Mr. Freeze.
