Tropical storm Iselle brought heavy rain and strong winds to the island of Hawaii on Friday morning, but the storm is expected to be overshadowed by Hurricane Julio.

Over 20,000 people were left without power, and residents were forced to seek shelter as Iselle wrecked the island. Iselle luckily weakened into a tropical storm before reaching the island, but winds still rose up to 50 miles per hour, reported Reuters.

No major injuries were reported as a result of the storm. Some of the residents who had evacuated their homes returned. However, those on the smaller islands were still warned.

"Do not be fooled by the fact that there may appear to be a lull right now,” Governor Neil Abercrombie said.

As Iselle left the island, a stronger storm was brewing. Hurricane Julio, which downgraded to a Category 2 storm, was approaching the island at 16mph.

According to The Washington Post, if Hurricane Julio makes landfall, it would be the first time since 1992, when Hurricane Iniki, a category 4 storm, pummeled the island. Although the forecast could change, the hurricane is still being monitored.

As of now, the Central Pacific Hurricane Center expects the storm to pass over the north of the Hawaii islands.
