A Nebraska man joined in and did the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness. However, things went wrong as he was tracked down and arrested by police.
According to the LA Times, Jesean Morris, 20, posted the video of himself taking the Ice bucket challenge. Authorities then tracked down Morris, who had an outstanding warrant, and arrested him.
Police were led to Morris after a tip from someone who saw the video online. The details of the warrant were not clear, but Morris was on parole after he was convicted for an attempted sexual assault back in 2010.
Morris was arrested at his house by two officers. According to an incident report, he did not go quietly. He gave officers false information about himself, spit in one of the officer’s face and kicked out a safety partition in the police cruiser, reported NBC News.
The Ice Bucket Challenge is a viral campaign that raises awareness for Lou Gehrig’s disease, or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The chain begins when one person has been nominated, and after they have completed the challenge, they nominate friends to do the challenge.
