J.K. Rowling never stops writing and, while she’s always working on new novels it seems, she is also continuing to build on the Harry Potter universe. The characters from the series are so popular that even a story centering on an obscure singer from the wizarding world she created grabs attention.

The new short story isn’t so much of a story as more of a Wikipedia-style entry for Celestina Warbeck. In a statement to Today.com, which also published the piece, Rowling said that, “Celestina Warbeck is one of my favourite 'off-stage' characters in the Harry Potter series, and has been part of the Potter world ever since its inception, making an early appearance in the short-lived Daily Prophet series I produced for members of the equally short-lived fan club run by my British publisher, Bloomsbury.”

So Celestina never actually appeared in any of the seven Potter novels. But, according to Rowling, she is the Shirley Bassey of the Potter universe. The name came from a friend she knew in the London Amnesty International headquarters.

While Celestina may be obscure to us muggles, her bio reveals that she is much more famous in the magic world. Her mother was a muggle, but she was instrumental in her life. She wrote to Hogwarts to create programs like a choir that would help bring Celestina’s talents to life.

Celestina has gone on to have a wonderful career, highlighted by the popular album You Stole My Cauldron but You Can't Have My Heart.

This is the latest addition to the Potter world on Pottermore.com. Last month, Rowling posted a story that actually involved Potter himself and his friends attending the Quidditch World Cup in their ‘30s.
