Jaycee Chan, the son of action star Jackie Chan, was detained in China last week after he allegedly tested positive for marijuana use. The 31-year-old was arrested the same day Taiwanese movie star Kai Ko, 23, was arrested as well.

According to police, the two were arrested at Chan’s home, where they found 100 grams of marijuana, reports The BBC. Beijing police announced the arrests on their weibo page.

Chan and Ko are the latest big-name stars arrested for drug use as the Chinese government tries to crack down on excess among the upper class. Gao Hu, who appeared in the international hit The Flowers of War, was arrested just earlier this month for marijuana and methamphetamines possession.

According to Reuters, drug use has risen since a new urban class has grown with more extra money. Drug convictions could come with sentences ranging from life in prison to death.

Ironically, Chan’s father was a goodwill spokesman for the China National Anti-Drug Committee in 2009.

Jackie Chan recently made headlines over the weekend himself, when he suggested that he might want to slow down when it comes to films.
