Into the Woods star James Corden reportedly has been selected to replace Craig Ferguson as host of The Late Late Show, when the latter steps down in December.
Sources exclusively told TheWrap of the casting, while neither Corden nor CBS' reps would confirm or deny the report.
The English actor isn't exactly a big name here in the United States, but co-starred in the popular comedy series Gavin & Stacey in the UK and the more recent The Wrong Mans. He will be seen opposite Keira Knightley in the upcoming Begin Again and is in Disney's Into the Woods.
Ferguson revealved his decision to leave in late April after being The Late Late Show host since 2005.
The Scottish comedian made his plans known shortly after CBS decided to give the soon-to-be open Late Show hosting gig to Stephen Colbert.
"CBS and I are not getting divorced," Ferguson quipped in a statement at the time. "We are 'consciously uncoupling,' but we will still spend holidays together and share custody of the fake horse and robot skeleton, both of whom we love very much."
