While numerous people around the world dislike Justin Bieber’s hit song “Baby,” very few run away when they hear it. However, for wildlife the instinct to run might just be too strong to ignore, as a bear was scared away from a man by his Justin Bieber ringtone.

Fisherman Igor Vorozhbitsyn was heading out to a fishing spot in Yakutia Republic, an area in northern Russia, when he was attacked by a brown bear. In the midst of the attack, Vorozhbitsyn’s ringtone of “Baby” went off, startling the bear and scaring him away as reported by The Independent.

While the attack was potentially life threatening, thanks to a ringtone downloaded by his granddaughter, the 42-year-old fisherman is sporting severe bruising and cuts instead of something much worse. Speaking of the experience to the Daily Mail, Vorozhbitsyn stated ,” I had parked my car and was walking towards the spot I'd marked out when there was a tremendous impact on my back and the bear was on top of me. I couldn't believe my luck when the phone went off and he fled.”

Vorozhbitsyn was aided after his mauling by other fisherman, and is now recovering from the experience.
