Katie Aselton, who stars in FX's The League has been cast in Gus Van Sant's latest project, Sea of Trees.
Aselton has been tapped to play a woman Matthew McConaughey's character has an affair with, according to The Hollywood Reporter, who first learned of the casting.
Aselton has starred in all five seasons of The League and will be in the upcoming one. She has also appeared in Our Idiot Brother and Black Rock.
Sea of Trees stars McConaughey as an American man who runs into a Japanese man, played by Ken Watanabe, in the "Suicide Forest." Instead of committing suicide, the pair instead go on a introspective journey together.
The only other cast member in the project so far is Naomi Watts, who will play McConaughey's wife.
Van Sant is on board to direct based off a script by Chris Sparling, which appeared on 2013's Black List. He last helmed the disappointing Promise Land, which was toplined by Matt Damon.
