Australian country star Keith Urban is letting his voice be heard in support of Nashville's famed Music Row, but this time he is writing and not singing.
In an editorial piece for The Tennessean, Urban talked about his experiences living in Nashville and the value of a place like Music Row, which he credits with helping him make the decision to move to Nashville in 1992.
"Music Row is where the past, present and future meet, and that's a vital part of keeping balance," he wrote.
Urban expressed his hope that development in the city of Nashville will not endanger the existence of Music Row. He called Music Row a "center" and cited the careers of country music legends like Waylon Jennings and Neil Young as reasons why the famed landmark should remain untouched.
According to People Magazine, Urban currently resides in Nashville with his wife Nicole Kidman. Taste of Country reports that Urban is currently on his 2014 Raise 'Em Up Tour with opening acts Jerrod Neimann and Brett Eldredge. The tour will conclude in Washington on Sept. 13.
