Newly acquired Cleveland Cavalier Kevin Love hit the airways on Wednesday morning and had a response for the owner of his former team.
While on ESPN’s Mike and Mike, Love said that Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor should stop worrying about him and focus on his own team.
"I think emotions are definitely running high right now," Love said. "For Glen to say that, I just think that he should be focusing on the players that he just received. I mean, he has two of the No. 1 picks in the last two drafts: Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett. He has another guy who can really play in Thaddeus Young.
"I think he got a lot for me. So I'd be focusing even more on that. More than anything, I'm just excited to start my time in Cleveland, get to work with my new teammates and start with this new family here."
SB Nation noted that Love’s comments came a day after Taylor criticized the 25-year-old’s defensive play and said that he will be just a third wheel behind LeBron James and Kyrie Irving.
Despite the break up and his criticism of Love, the Wolves’ owner said that the two will remain friends. And why shouldn’t they? After all, if Dan Gilbert and King James can mend fences after Gilbert’s verbal attack, then anybody can.
Love, a three-time All Star, played for Minnesota since he started his career in 2008. On Saturday, he was traded to the Cavaliers in a three-team deal that also involved the Philadelphia 76ers.
