Leonard Cohen will be releasing a new album called Popular Problems in late September, just shortly after he turns 80.
The 13th studio album from the legendary musician will be released on Sept. 23, which is only two days after his 80th birthday, Billboard reports.
Popular Problems found Cohen working with producer Patrick Leonard again, after last teaming up for Old Ideas back in 2012.
According to Rolling Stone, the album will contain nine new songs and anyone who pre-orders the album will be able to download new song "Almost Like the Blues."
Two of the songs have been heard before though. Cohen has played both "Born In Chains" and "My Oh My" on stage, though the latter only during a soundcheck.
"Yet again, Leonard Cohen has broken musical boundaries with new creative inspiration," Columbia Records chairman and CEO, Rob Stringer, said in a statement. "These nine new songs are simply sublime and innovative with a unique spirit. We're absolutely thrilled and honored to celebrate this milestone with him."
News of a possible 13th album were first revealed at the fan convention Leonard Cohen Event 2014 by Jarkko Arjatsalo in Dublin.
