Mark-Paul Gosselaar was on HuffPost Live today to talk about TNT’s Franklin & Bash with Breckin Meyer, but Gosselaar was asked about Behind the Bell, the new memoir by Saved by the Bell’s Dustin Diamond. Gosselaar was not happy with the book, which he found too negative and clashed with his experiences on the same show.
“Everything that I've heard about his book is negative and I don't remember those things,” Gosselaar told the online show, reports E! News. Gosselaar said that people often think he’s avoiding talking about the show, but he genuinely had positive experiences on the hit ‘90s sitcom.
“My experience on the show was very positive and that's why when people say, ‘Oh, you don't like talking about it,’” Gosselaar said. “It's like, No, I don't mind talking about it, I just don't really remember that time, and also everything I do remember was extremely positive.”
Even though he wasn’t on the show and doesn’t even know Diamond, Meyer still added his two cents, notes UPI.
“I think he's so full of [expletive], like his sex tape... you saw it! That's not him!” Meyer said. “Screech is not packing that. Get the hell out of here. He doesn't have six Beldings beneath him. There's no [expletive] way. You're full of [expletive], Dustin.”
The topic was brought up by the HuffPo host because Lifetime is currently working on a made-for-TV movie based on Diamond’s book. Gosselaar bluntly told the host that he has nothing to do with it. So, he probably doesn’t know that Dylan Everett.
