The body of a missing Oregon mother was found 24 miles from her home.
According to USA Today, a property owner noticed something suspicious when he spotted a dark green SUV in close proximity to highway 18 near a grove of trees early Tuesday. The man alerted police around 10:30 a.m. who shortly after found the body of Jennifer Huston nearby.
A residential chain was said to be removed carelessly and a strong odor described by a neighbor is what drew the attention to the scene. As of right now, the situation remains an active death investigation although there is currently no suspicion of foul play.
Huston was on her way to run some errands on the day of her disappearance on July 24. Surveillance video showed the woman entering a Rite Aid where she purchased trail mix, gatorade and some sleeping aid before stopping to get gas. Huston’s Hudson said it was nothing out of the ordinary aside from the fact that she had been complaining of a headache and seemed a little stressed out.
"It was a hot day. She grabbed a Gatorade. We do have trail mix in the house from time to time, and the sleep aids — I think it was just due to the fact that she had headaches for the last three days, and she just wanted a good night's sleep,” her husband Kallen Huston said in a press conference reported the Daily News.
The couple have two sons together, ages 2 and 6 who have an upcoming birthday in September. According to reports the Hustons were planning to celebrate their 10-year wedding anniversary on August 14.
