It was a thriller in Boston as the Bronx Bombers defeated the Red Sox in a come from behind win. There were a lot of runs scored, but in the end New York won 8-7 at Fenway Park.

David Ortiz hit a home run to put the Red Sox in the lead seven to four in the bottom of the fourth inning. However, the Yankees tied the game up at seven runs a peace scoring three runs in the top of the fifth inning.

What helped the Yankees gain the lead was in the top of the sixth inning, Bret Gardner hit a solo home run. Not known for being a power hitter in his career, Gardner has a total of 15 home runs this season, as proven by ESPN. He also contributed two more hits in the game giving the Yankee outfield three hits for the game.

According to MLB.com, the Yankees are exactly five games out of first place behind the Baltimore Orioles, and three and a half games out of second place behind the Toronto Blue Jays.
