TV Icon Oprah Winfrey has reported that she plans to honor comedian Robin Williams this week by featuring interviews between the two on her channel, OWN.
As we reported earlier in the week, Williams, an Academy Award-winning actor, passed away at aged 63 after committing suicide by asphyxiation.
Winfrey plans to replay two episodes of the The Oprah Winfrey Show that featured interviews with the comedian. His first appearance in 1988 featured Williams speaking about filming Good Morning Vietnam, and sharing personal stories about his childhood.
The second episode that plans to be repeated is an interview from 1991, and features an intense and emotional interview where Williams discussed his drug abuse, his marriage and trials with fatherhood, his experiences on The Fisher King and Dead Poets Society, his creative impulses and inspriations, as well as his thought on aging.
According to the Deccan Herald, Williams had been on Winfrey’s show 14 times, and the reason that Winfrey only plans to repeat two of these appearances is unknown.
Winfrey gave a small memorial to the actor earlier this week, thanking him for the “great interviews.”
According to TV Guide, the episodes will be shown on OWN at 7/6 Central for William’s 1988 appearance, with the 1991 appearance being broadcast right after at 8/7c.
