Pharrell Williams is on board to curate the soundtrack to the upcoming NBA 2K15 video game, with is streaming online ahead of the game's release through Spotify.

2K Sports made the announcement on Tuesday that Williams put together a 27-track soundtrack for the latest iteration of the popular basketball video game series, The Associated Press reports.

The Grammy-winning singer said he put together an "eclectic mix" of musicians for the latest soundtrack. "It was fun to include songs that I have always loved, like Strafe's 'Set it Off' or Tribe Called Quest's 'Scenario.'"

Vice president of marketing, Alfie, Brody, explained that the "Happy" singer was selected to curate the latest soundtrack for the video game series due to his "creative energy and background with the NBA." Williams performed during the most recent NBA All-Star game, alongside Nelly, Diddy and Snoop Dogg.

Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James selected the songs for NBA 2K14 and Jay Z helped on a previous release in 2012.

The soundtrack, which contains music from the likes of Basement Jaxx, Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force, Major Lazer, Death From Above 1979 and many others is available for early listen on Vibe through a Spotify playlist.

NBA 2K15 is set for release on Oct. 7.
