Prince is finally delivering on that promise from this spring to release a new album. The record will feature his all-female backup group, 3rd Eye Girl, who also announced their own album.

3rd Eye Girl appeared on Good Morning America this morning to make the two announcements. Their album, Plectrum Electrum, and Prince’s album, Art Official Age, will both be released on Sept. 30. Prince does appear on 3rd Eye Girl’s album.

“It’s such an incredible learning experience. Everyone knows the genius of Prince, so to be able to be hands-on on a daily basis, playing with the best musicians in the world and becoming a family,” the group said on GMA. “We’re really tight and it makes the music that much better because it comes through.”

The members of 3rd Eye Girl are guitarist Donna Grantis, drummer Hannah Ford Welton and bassist Ida Nielsen. They also showed off the album covers and “Clouds,” the first single from Art Official Age.

This will be Prince’s first album since 2010’s 20Ten. The guitarist announced plans to release a new record back in April, when he signed a landmark deal with Warner Bros. Records. So, in addition to Art Official Album, Prince and Warner Bros. are working on re-releases of his most iconic albums, starting with Purple Rain.

Prince recently appeared on New Girl, singing with Zooey Deschanel during the special post-Super Bowl episode.
