Production on the sixth and final Resident Evil film has officially been delayed until midway through 2015 after it was discovered series star Milla Jovovich was pregnant.
The Fifth Element star revealed she was now expecting her second child with director husband Paul W.S. Anderson. She claimed the news came just as she was about to jet off for filming on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
In the Facebook post, Jovovich explained that filming would now be delayed until after she had given birth instead of trying to continue forward with the film. "After a lot of discussion, we thought it would be in everyone's best interest to wait till the baby is born before we set out to try and tackle an RE movie."
The plan was to begin production on the film in the fall in Cape Town, South Africa in order to get the film out into theaters in 2015. Now, Deadline is exclusively reporting that production will only be delayed for 10 months.
Jovovich plans to push that baby out and be ready to begin filming quite soon after for the final film, which Anderson is again helming and writing.
