A suspect involved in a possible president threat was taken into custody in Connecticut by the Secret Service.

The suspect was, who may have threatened President Barack Obama's life, was located in Hamden, as police scoured the area for a 2014 blue Volkswagen Jetta, NECN reports.

"We have taken all appropriate investigative steps in this matter, based on the information we received yesterday about a suspicious vehicle and person," Secret Service Public Affairs Staff Assistant Nicole Mainor said. "There have been no arrests or charges brought in this case at this point."

According to NBC New York, Obama was visiting fundraising events in the area when Secret Service received a report about a possible threat on the president's life. They worked with police to determine whether the report was credible.

President Obama first visited Sound Shore in mid-afternoon before heading to Purchase for a DNC Labor Day barbecue fundraiser. He left Connecticut in the evening for a third fundraiser in Rhode Island.
